New LandCruiser Prado range has 14 variants, with the choice of two body styles, two engines, two transmissions, six model grades and two seating capacities. It is offered for the first time in Australia as a three-door sports wagon, as well as a five-door family wagon.

The engine choices for five-door Prado are 4.0-litre dual VVT-i petrol and 3.0-litre turbocharged common-rail direct-injection diesel. Both engines can be matched to six-speed manual or five-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission. There are ten turbo-diesel and four petrol variants.

Three-door Prado has the turbo-diesel engine and automatic transmission, as well as five seats. There are two three-door equipment grades - SX and ZR. There are four equipment grades in five-door Prado: GX, GXL, VX and top-of-the-range Kakadu.

GX is offered as a turbo-diesel five-seat model, with the choice of manual or automatic transmission. It has the option of a third-row seat. GXL, VX and Kakadu equipment grades have seven seats.

Volume-selling GXL is offered with the choice of petrol and turbo-diesel engines, and manual or automatic transmission. VX and Kakadu are offered with the choice or petrol or diesel engines, both with automatic transmission.

ZR and Kakadu are offered with an advanced safety option package - Pre-Crash safety System (PCS) and radar (adaptive) cruise control. Prado is well-specified across the model range.

All Prado models have, as standard equipment, seven airbags, whiplash injury lessening front seats, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), All-terrain Traction Control (A-TRC), ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), air-conditioning, cruise control, smart entry and smart start, tilt and telescopic steering column adjustment, 220 Volt rear accessory socket, Bluetooth TM hands-free mobile telephone capability, USB auxiliary input and iPod ® control, side-mirror-mounted indicators, alloy wheels, conversation mirror, UV-cut glass, ventilated coolbox in the centre console and a minimum 2500kg towing capacity*.
